Thanksgiving has concluded. Not that I have anything wrong with the holiday! It's just that I am averse to spending days trapped in a house with throngs of people I'd rather not interact with. Also the fact that I don't enjoy consuming great quantities of food. Other than that the occasion is superb! *sarcastic thumbs up* I feel like I should explain. See, I...like my family very much, but at a distance. Those long bouts of neglect that we spend apart are the best, I miss them then. It is only when I am reacquainted with that crowd that I develop a relapse of my distaste. I mean hey, maybe there are people out there who would find joy in the situations I endure when attending the reunion. Me? No. For one upon entering the house my mother immediately announces me as "The Artist" and from then out I am requested to test my skills (~LostWithinDreams, you might be able to sympathize with me) Example: A game of Pictionary is established... and the horror unfolds. In order to understand my seemingly misplaced annoyance one must know that I am a extremely shy person who will do anything to throw the spotlight off myself. I do not like showcasing my art to a room of prearranged compliments. For instance I was doodling during this game (I managed to slink out of participating) and I was covering the paper with my arm similar to the position arranged when taking a test. I lift it for one second and I am swarmed with people cooing over the stupid coffee cup I sketched... Really? Now don't think I am ungrateful of compliments. If they are genuine I am very appreciative! I love when people like my art! But people were saying how it was lovely and then asking to see the picture... Hmm? I wonder if they really meant it?! It appears to me if someone says nice things about something and then asks to see it the pleasant words weren't that real. Maybe I am just too cynical, but that is how I see it.



Anyway, yeah. That is my rant. I had to get that off my chest. Now, although I do not feel better, I at least have my feelings recorded. There was other stuff that I wanted to write but it has escaped me. Oh well. Look forward to another journal full of rants about crappy books -> movies. Heehee.
